Black and White cut out2.)
I felt like the black and white cut out project was the least successful. Although it turned out to be fine, it was the hardest to do and i kept cutting through the music notes. I took a while to do every small and large note and the thin delicate lines of the ears. I would change the whole look. I wouldn't even do the ears.I challenged myself by doing the smaller notes but it took a lot of patience to do, most likely I would do something that is thicker and not as time consuming. |
pERSPECTIVE- dESTROYED cITY
1.)
The perspective destroyed city drawing was my best, well in my opinion. Well the theme was a destroyed city, at first i thought i was going to do something with name brand fashion and do a birds eye view but it wasn't turning out how i thought it would turn out... so i started all over and decided to do something more syfy. Yes, Ms.Rossi would teach me how to make the poles of the bridge look like they were going getting smaller because the view was going back farther. At the beginning of the semester we learned how to shade, I now understand why. I had to shade almost everything to make it more real life looking but also dark. I did not use any color cause i wanted to portray a dark and lifeless feeling. I feel like i did get enough instruction to make the final product look like how i envisioned.

5.)
Printing was my favorite medium. I love the linoleum we used. It was fun to cut out the shapes we needed. The actual putting on the ink process was very tedious. But the final turned out great. Carving out the details of everything on the fish was difficult. I didn't know if it would show up when i actually used the ink to make the print on my colored paper of choice. I used positive and negative space to switch it up a bit. I didn't want my print to be just negative or just positive. As you see in the picture the clown fish was mostly negative but the other two fish were mostly positive. Some of my bubbles had a transition from positive to negative to positive once again. |
Skeleton&Landscape painting3.)
Skeleton: Adding all the bones to the structure of the object i did (in this case Tinkerbell) was very strange for me. I had to do bones that actually represent a human bone but make it smaller and different shapes. For some of the bones i needed to use a lighter hand so it didn't stand out as much. On bigger bones i needed to test out the size and shape and darkness of it. Landscape Painting: Color making was the hardest part, getting the tertiary colors was very different. Although I had a lot of experience with painting and painting with acrylic paints, I didn't make my own colors I bought all the colors for the paintings i made. |
Clay tile |
4.)
I chose my clay tile because it was hard work but colorful. If i were to describe myself i would say I am hard work and I'm very bright and bubbly. When i say hard work i mean it took lots of time to perfect it, to make the lily pads actually look like the shape of a lily pad. The flowy looking flower was a pain. The petals would keep falling down making it difficult for me to actually shape it like how i wanted it. I wanted to define the veins the lily pads so i used a darker shade of green to make it look like its in the pad but i also added some white to add a little highlight to the lily pad because i wanted to also show that the veins were popping up somewhat. The orange flower was the easiest to do. I wanted to make it bright but have it be more of an ombre. So i started with a darker red-orange and went to a paler orange to just a tint of orange to a whole lot of white. I added the yellow inside to act as if that was pollen. The colors in the flowy flower were kind of an ombre, they blended into each other making it look more realistic. |
